Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I am glad you enjoyed both the post and my blog generally :)
I did post on my transition to allergy-free eating but to be honest I did not post everything - some of it was time and some of it was just not wanting to talk about every minute detail of it. I wrote this FAQ a while ago and it is general enough that it is still accurate: http://www.citylifeeats.com/p/city-girl-eats.html
The short story is that the basic food allergy testing my insurance covered brought up nothing, nor did I test positive for Celiac's, but I decided to go the elimination diet route rather than pay for more allergy testing. The allergy testing was way way too expensive. After a couple of reintroductions, it became clear that gluten and dairy were my two big triggers, but I also found I don't feel so good when I eat other foods (like most sugars), so I avoid those as well. Additionally, I have gallbladder problems so some of the foods I avoid are not things I am necessarily intolerant to, but which can trigger further gallstone issues. So the elimination diet shed a lot of light, but my doctor and ND (mainly the ND) also helped craft the list of avoid foods based on other health issues (gallbladder, sinus, adrenal, family history etc) as well as what the elimination diet showed I had trouble with.
Hope this answers your question. Thanks again so much for stopping by :)
